If aliens can ditch in Johannesburg and squat off the land until eviction, then why not land in Senegal and annex Gambia?

District 9 looked really beautiful... er thanks to WETA workshop. However, it made almost no sense. For all the potential it had, the movie just squandered it. Who the hell wants to see Alien Nation go from LA to South Africa... LAME! There should have been escalation, aliens trying to repair and leave, government intervention to contain the ship, robot karate, lasers ripping apart buildings. Dammit, that movie screwed the pooch.

It made about as much sense as inserting a live cable, right into a socket, bored behind the cerebrum, in the Matrix. Blood brain barrier? Sepsis?
